Description
The Spyderco Native Chief is about a third longer than the well-known Native, but is still amazingly compact and pocket-friendly despite its elongated dimensions. The CPM-REX45 blade features the signature thumb opening and is secured with a sturdy backlock. The US-produced high performance steel has the same composition as the Japanese HAP40 already used by Spyderco. It has high percentages of cobalt (8%), tungsten (6%), molybdenum (5%) and vanadium (3%), which makes it very sturdy and creates exceptional edge retention. With a chromium content of 4%, it is not a stainless steel. The G10 burnt orange handle scales offer a secure grip thanks to the fine texturing. The clip offers four different positions.
