Description
The Arditi Destroyers of the Regia Aeronautica (ADRA), were an Italian battalion operating in the Second World War in North Africa, which was awarded two silver medals of honor for military valor. The ADRA Battalion had the task of carrying out “complex” sabotage missions against enemy airfields through the use of unprecedented guerrilla techniques at the time. Today, the 17th Stormo Incursori or the 17th Raiders Wing, a special unit of the Italian Air Force, collects the baton of the glorious battalion. As a tangible token of continuity, members of the 17th line up and parade carrying as combat daggers at their belts the only true witness of Arditismo: the combat dagger, as the Arditi used to carry on the occasion of the delivery of the war flag. The ADRA dagger, with its classic European shape, was designed for and with the strong input from commanders and operatives of the 17th Wing unit, begins its journey of honor and duty. The EXTREMA RATIO ADRA SPECIAL EDITION 17th STORMO version, numbered but not limited edition, is the satin version of the ADRA model, with the logo of the 17th Stormo, a ceremonial belt sheath and a display box in black lacquered wood.
