Muela offers the Viking as their Scandi grind knife. The traditional Nordic grind goes from full blade width down to zero without any more facets. This creates an extremely sharp and relatively sturdy blade. The grind offers many advantages, especially for bushcraft tasks such as working with dry wood over longer periods. Another advantage is that the Scandi grind is easy to sharpen. The entire blade can simply be placed on a whetstone to sharpen it. The correct angle is maintained automatically. The blades are made from reliable stainless steel 1.4116, which offers a balance of edge retention, easy sharpening and toughness. The Viking Black Micarta features a modern, more pronounced handle design. The black Micarta scales with finger choils make the knife perfectly suited for hunting- or tactical tasks. The black saddle leather sheath can be worn vertically or horizontally on the belt.
